What Would Catherine Wear to the Biggest College Football Game in Alabama?

As MANY of you are aware I was recently on Holiday at my family home in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I was born and raised to be a fan of the University of Alabama Football Program and to always hold a spot in my heart for the legendary Paul “Bear” Bryant (more reasons than just the football for that but this is neither the time nor the place). There are days that just the sight of Houndstooth or the right shade of Crimson can make my day that much brighter and “Sweet Home Alabama” makes me happy every time. While we were in the area on holiday the biggest game of our season was set to happen…yes there were national title implications and all of the hoopla that come with those but this would have been the biggest, craziest day on our schedule no matter the record to that point because this was the game against our biggest rival for the past generation or so…the Auburn Tigers. This was the IRON BOWL and this is serious business! One of my readers who has her own Tumblr at Fashionably Royal sent out a series of Tweets that told me that we share more than just the Royals….we got to talking during Alabama’s warmup drills for Georgia the game, and we wondered about what Catherine might wear to this game if she were to ever attend it in Tuscaloosa with the University of Alabama as her host (please note I would be more than willing to serve on the planning or welcome committees).  Below is a collage of the pieces we thought appropriate for her that would fit the occasion, support the team, and give her just the right amount of flexibility to fit in with the surrounding crowds.  She currently owns all of the pieces with the exception of the Houndstooth Hat and Scarf (though there is that one houndstooth skirt of hers).  I also think that she could war the coat to the beginning of the game and then remove it and get comfy as the game went on sunglasses are a matter of personal preference and are rarely seen on Catherine at appearances BUT I might recommend that she bring a pair and let Will rock his Aviator ones

  1. Originally, I was from Georgia and we Southern girls like Kate so much because she is such a LADY, just as we were raised to be.

Reese, as i stated in the article above, my family is from Alabama and I swear if you leave the hat at home and switch the jeans for black dress trousers or suit trousers then this look can be appropriate for anything from a day of errands to church or a walk on a well worn path in the woods with little ones (maybe looking for Rudolph just before bed at Christmas time)
