There are pictures that have leaked out of Catherine with Prince George and Princess Charlotte recently. While I will not be publishing the photos out of respect for the wishes of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, that their children be given privacy and allowed as normal a childhood as possible, I will tell you what Catherine was spotted wearing during the fun.
As George was playing with the assistance of some friendly police officers, Catherine was nearby watching and smiling and she was wearing this year’s version of the Cezanne Pleated Dress by familiar brand Great Plains.
I ordered this dress for myself and I want to share my thoughts with you. I LOVE Great Plains and their customer service!
I ordered this dress in a Medium and received an order confirmation at 2:52 PM Eastern Time on Tuesday the 24th. I settled in for what I thought would be a 6 business day wait thanks to the information that is so easy to find on the site (have I mentioned that I love Great Plains and their Customer Service? I really, really do!). I knew that with a federal holiday here in the US that it might be the first part of June before I got to add this piece to my closet.
Turns out I would not have to wait long at all.
At 11:28 AM on Wednesday I got an e-mail that told me my dress had been dispatched. I took the tracking number and checked with the elected carrier to see when we’d need to keep an ear out for the door or leave a note begging them to leave the package and not knock and wake whoever might be napping inside…it is more likely they would have been missed because we are really working hard on cleaning and organizing the house this week, but you get the picture.
I was shocked to see that they estimated arrival by End of Day on Thursday, May 26! Oh my goodness that is fast!
All day on the 26th I kept an ear on the door and binge-watched TV while doing small projects in the living room…about 6:25 I saw there was an update on the tracking and it told me that my package had just left the East Midlands in the UK….I doubted they’d get the package to me all day but this pretty much sealed it with a laugh…I even tweeted about it.

By the time I went to bed at 10:30pm the dress had landed in Cincinnati, Ohio…close but not Louisville.
The next morning I woke to a soft knock on the door…I like polite delivery people.
By 9:30AM I was trying on the dress, or more accurately I was trying to undo the hook and eye closure that is above the zipper on the dress…that little sucker knew its job was to stay fastened, but I got it finally.
I was so sad when the medium would not fit me :*( It does fit my mum but she doesn’t want to hang on to it.
Here is a better look at the dress.
and here is a look at the back of the dress
and here is a better look at the pleats in the skirt
The dress is made of a fabric that makes it silky and light to the touch. I feel like I would wear this everywhere if I wanted to feel dressy.
Yes, I am super short and so the skirt is REALLY long on me but I can have it tailored once I get the fit right for my shoulders.
Like I said this medium did not fit me because of the way my back has broadened and curved as the result of my posture from my walker and my wheelchair. I have ordered a large and think that it should fit nicely at the shoulders any flaws should easily be covered by a dressy jacket. Due to my issues with Glamorous (yes, I tried to own that dress), I am not attempting an international return so if you think the Medium will fit you let me know…I’ll only ask the $110 I paid.
If you want to get it straight from Great Plains it is available via their website in Medium, Large, and Extra Large and you can use the code MAYGP20 to save 20% and don’t forget if you are in the US you don’t pay VAT which is the same as another 20% right there! It certainly offsets the £10 international shipping. I really have ZERO complaints and I pray Catherine wears more Great Plains in the future. The Holiday Weekend in the UK and US means I have a longer wait for my dress in the new size but I don’t mind a bit…I already know where i plan to wear this one
